DCL INVESTS $3 MILLION TO EXPAND ITS FACILITIES IN SAINT-HYACINTHE
Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole announces the start of a new project in the Olivier-Chalifoux industrial park in Saint-Hyacinthe. DCL has just revealed the details of a three million dollar investment for the expansion of its Maskoutain facilities and has, at the same time, begun the related construction work.
The construction, which will last until next June, will allow the addition of an area of 20 square feet to the Saint-Hyacinthe factory. This expansion is made necessary by the increase in production activities of non-medicinal additives and the growing demand in the field of warehousing. In fact, in addition to distributing and manufacturing animal nutrition and health products, the company offers warehousing services adapted to the food, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.
“We have expanded our activities at the request of our customers, particularly to store their products. This has led to strong growth and this is why we have chosen to stand out with more modern spaces which will meet the most demanding standards in terms of monitoring and traceability,” specified Martin Grégoire, president of the company.
Thus, the new spaces will have a height of 50 feet and will be equipped with technology ensuring exemplary reliability and allowing their volume to be maximized. “This will allow us to go from a turnover of 24 to 000 pallets annually. We will also be able to better serve our customers with greater speed of execution. Also, thanks to a WMS system, we will have better IT management of our warehouse and better knowledge of the quantity and quality of stock activity. We will be able to optimize the order preparation process and improve traceability,” he added.
This significant investment will also allow DCL to continue the development of its manufacturing and distribution activities for its products. By being more efficient and competitive, it will be able to open its export markets. To do this, the company plans to create around fifteen new jobs in the short and medium term, thus doubling its workforce.
Remember that the DCL company began its activities in 1996. It manufactures and distributes non-medicated additives for animals of the highest quality, such as enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, minerals, disinfectants and aromatic compounds and extracts. of plants. These products are specially designed for the pork, poultry and ruminant industries in order to improve animal health while respecting the fight against antibiotic resistance, which constitutes one of the major public health challenges of the 21st century, an issue health for livestock sectors and consumer food safety.
